Hackers attacked the website of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which today published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, the Associated Press reports. “The site is blocked because it was attacked. It is likely that we are talking about a more massive attack than what happened in 2011,” said the editor of the publication, Stéphane Charbonnier. Let us note that a year ago the publication of similar drawings also led to the arson of the editorial office.

Earlier on Wednesday it was reported that after the release of the scandalous issue of Charlie Hebdo, special forces were deployed to the magazine's office in Paris in anticipation of a Muslim protest. At the same time, neither the publication’s management nor the French authorities see serious reasons for dissatisfaction in the publication. Thus, Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault called on all those dissatisfied to go to court.

Then artist Kurt Vestergaard depicted the Islamic prophet with a turban in the shape of a bomb. The cartoons were published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten, and then reprinted by several other European publications.
