The Ministry of Internal Affairs will allow cars to drive faster

The speed mode in certain sections of Russian roads will increase. At the same time, not inspectors of the traffic police, but video cameras, will follow the violators, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

The minister emphasized that the discussion of the speed regime took place as part of the development of a complex of measures that will improve the situation on the roads - the Ministry of Internal Affairs is developing them together with the Ministry of Transport.

According to Kolokoltsev, with an increase in the speed mode in certain areas, the road surface and other factors will be taken into account.

Note that at the moment the maximum permitted speed is 110 kilometers per hour. Its motorists can reach highways.

The minister also recalled a large number of people who die daily on Russian roads. According to his data, about 100 people per day become victims of DPT.
