Iran’s police placed the daughter of former President Iran Ali Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani to the prison of Evin Tehran to serve his sentence “for the spread of anti-state propaganda,” Reuters reports. Allegedly, she gave an interview to one of the opposition sites in which she criticized the violation of human rights in her country and the economic policy of the Ayatoll regime .
Earlier in January 2012, she was sentenced to a prison term of six months for participating in an unauthorized rally of the opposition at the door of the GOSTELEVIA building in Tehran during the 2009 presidential election, at which Mahmoud Akhmadinejad was re -elected. Then she made a speech in support of the opposition candidate Mirkhossein Musavi. She was forbidden to appear at public and cultural events for five years. It should be noted that five more detainees at the rally were sentenced to death.
