With a hammock on Pussy Riot
With the scandal, the opening of the exhibition "Spiritual Branch" in the gallery of Marat Helman at the "Vinzavod" began. The entrance to the gallery was blocked by several dozen Cossacks and Orthodox activists, dissatisfied with the fact that the paintings depict saints in balaclavas, and members of the Pussy Riot group with halo.
Thus, the Orthodox radicals reacted to the words of the secretary of the Patriarchal Council for Culture Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov), who called the exhibition, which he did not have time to see, "an act of cynical terror in relation to culture." The police detained nine people, and the Vinzavod’s security blocked the entrance to the territory.
On September 21, on the second day of the exposition, information appeared: a bomb is laid in the gallery. When the threat of the explosion was not confirmed, visitors were finally able to go to the exhibition.

Initially, the organizers announced that the exposition would be open until October 5. In connection with the excitement, they extended it for another two weeks. Who knows whether the protection of the Winzavod will be able to reflect the onslaught of dissatisfied all this time, who consider the work exhibited by blasphemy.
