Five criminal gangs were eliminated in the city of Gus-Khrustalny, Vladimir Region, during the work to decriminalize the region, among those detained were four police officers and a former local deputy, official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin told Interfax.
“Currently, the main task of neutralizing the leaders and members of organized criminal groups - “Eight”, “Manakh”, “56th”, “Ryzunov”, “Zhilastok”, has been solved, as well as identifying and suppressing corruption ties that contributed to the groups for a long time act with impunity,” Markin told Interfax on Monday.
He recalled that 27 criminal cases were investigated against members of the organized crime group, and the largest part of them were initiated after the head of the Investigative Committee considered the collective appeal of the residents of Gus-Khrustalny.
“To date, investigators have prosecuted more than 24 members and leaders of various organized crime groups operating in the Gus-Khrustalny district. Among them are internal affairs officers Mikhail Ovechkin, Sergei Tarlakov, Eduard Zhidkov, Alexander Savinov and former local deputy Andrei Kashin.” , - said Markin.
