On September 10, in Moscow, 23 finalists of 8 cities of Russia met to determine the winners of Diageo Bar Academy 2012. The uncompromising struggle of the participants forced the jury to award more prizes than planned.

A real bartender performance has unfolded on the Jagger club. The short list of the superfinal included the names of the bartenders who made the most impression on the jury with the technique of cooking cocktails and the entertainment of the presentation-any drop spilled in vain could become fatal in the fate of the participant.

Despite the cool weather, by the evening the club was full of friends. In the space of the bar, all guests were invited to try cocktails from the world guru who took part in Diageo Bar Academy.

The winner in the Standard category (initial level, up to 3 years of work in the bar) was Elizaveta Nikolaev, working in the Friends bar in Novosibirsk. Lisa was the only girl who was able to break into the final! The second and third places were taken by Evgeny Alimirzoev, Daiqiri Bar, St. Petersburg, and Alexei Botkunov, a colleague of Lisa in the Friends bar. Peter Baryshnikov from the Moscow Bar “Delicatessen” by the joint decision of the jury and the organizers awarded the “Award of the audience sympathy”.

In the ADVANCED category (advanced level, more than 3 years of work in the bar), the first place was immediately awarded to three participants: Nikita Sergeyev from the Bar “DAIQIRI” (St. Petersburg), Ilya Bubashvili from the bar “Aloha” (Moscow) and Roman Velkin from the Bar “22.13” (St. Petersburg). The guys scored the same number of points and the three of them get the main prizes! The second places were occupied by Savinov Roman, Shizgar, Nizhny Novgorod, and Ciglintsev Konstantin from the previously mentioned Bar “Daiqiri”.

All participants who took prizes, as well as the winner of the audience sympathies, go to Bar Berlin Convent - the largest exhibition of the Barmen Industry in Europe. Participants who took first places go to study at New York and London. Silver and bronze medalists received sets of exclusive bartender equipment to improve their skill.

Also, at the award ceremony, the prize was awarded to the winner in the Marketing nomination, Rizovatov, Roman from the Bar “Douglas” (St. Petersburg). Roman at 3 stages Diageo Bar Academy presented the best plan for marketing activations for his bar and received a certificate with a denomination of 500,000 rubles for implementation.
