We are not slaves, we are not slaves

At the beginning of the 19th century, a certain English traveler wrote that the Russian peasant lives much better than the English, Scottish, and even more so Irish farmer, but while British farmers have rights, Russian peasants have no rights at all.

It seems that even in the 21st century, the authorities believe that workers’ rights are a kind of excess that is inappropriate in a “civilized society.”

Today, the regime and capitalists are putting forward new initiatives to enslave hired workers:

1. “Voluntary” work over 40 hours per week will no longer be paid as overtime.

2. It will become much easier to fire an employee. For example, due to “economic difficulties”.

3. Fixed-term employment contracts and hourly wages will become the norm.

4. The notice period for dismissal, the amount of severance pay, payments and bonuses will be reduced. The provision of educational and other leaves will be at the discretion of the employer.

5. Agency work (outstaffing) and other forms of precarious employment will be finally legalized...

It’s funny to talk about the struggle for civil rights if people spend most of the day in our workplace as semi-slaves.
