Serebrennikov began updating the Gogol Theater with performances by famous scenes.

The first premieres of the renewed Gogol Theater will be performances based on the film specifications of Rainer Fasbinder, Lukino Visconti and Lars von Trier, and the site of the station “Station” will open on February 2 and 3, the art director of the theater Kirill Serebrennikov told a press conference on Thursday.

“We will make a story about the station, they often say that the station is a kind of complication and a big problem. We want to try to explore this space with modern playwrights, modern approaches and make a musical and dramatic performance, a common jam-gray-season that will go for two days,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

Three premieres on the big stage are planned for the remaining part of the season - performances according to the scenarios of the films “Fear eats the soul” of Rainer Fasbinder, “Idiots” by Lars von Trier and Rocko and his brothers Lukino Visconti.

Three more premieres will be held on a small stage - Mitina Love, which is also put by the Mentavtsev, the "Christmas tree of the Ivanov" in the production of the young director Denis Azarov and the "Russian beauty" of the student of the seventh studio "Zhenya Berkovich.

According to Khudruk, several "special events" will be presented, including the "Tale of the Dead Princess", which will be shown by the Soundrama theater studio, the diversion of modern dance festival. In addition, the work of a large directorial laboratory is planned, in which seven groups of young actors and directors will take part.

“They will be invited to make applications for performances for Soviet film scores. The theme of our entire season will be related to cinema,” Serebrennikov said.

It is also planned to hold music concerts in the theater and create a system of arthouse film screening, which, according to Khudruk, undertook to oversee the filmmakers Stas Tyrkin.

“I would very much like Gogol -Center to become the center of the modern theater so that interesting directors work, that there is an experimental platform, modern arthouse cinema, modern music and modern young spectators,” Serebrennikov concluded.

According to him, the theater will remain repertoire, but the performances will be shown by blocks - three or four performances at once. Instead of a classic troupe on the stage, residents will play, among whom are the Seventh Studio, Gogol Theater actors, Soundrama theater studio and Dialogue Dance.

Serebrennikov also told that it will change after the cosmetic repair of the theater - the entrance area will be changed, the large hall of the theater will turn into a universal transformer hall. One of the main changes is at the place of the premises, which was handed over to the Caviar club, a rehearsal complex will appear.

The artistic director also noted that there will be a new ticket policy, in addition to tickets for a separate performance, subscriptions for the season may appear.
