49% of Muscovites spoke out for the change of mayor of the capital

Two years after the appointment of Sergei Sobyanin by the mayor of Moscow, almost half of the Muscovites-49% speak for the appearance of a new person in this post, reports Reuters with reference to the results of the sociological study of the Levada Center.

The results of the last survey of Muscovites, conducted from September 27 to October 1, showed that if the elections of the new head of the city were held this Sunday, the current mayor Sergei Sobyanin would have received only 36% of the vote for them. For a possible candidate from the combined opposition, 31% of the voters would vote.

It is noteworthy that only 23% of the townspeople believe that new elections need to be held as soon as possible. Most respondents - 65%, spoke out that Sergei Sobyanin, whose powers expire in 2015, finalized until the end of his term.

The idea of ​​the return of direct elections in the mayor of Moscow, instead of the proposal of the mayor’s “Party of power”, supported 77% of Muscovites.

Judging by the polls of the Levada Center, the rating of Sergei Sobyanin continues to deteriorate . Since August 2011, the share of respondents with a “very bad or bad” impression of the mayor's activities increased from 15 to 18%, and with “good or very good” - decreased from 34 to 27%. In June 2012, 16%of respondents called the “poor” activity of the mayor, “average” - 46%, “good” - 26%.

One of Sobyanin’s main tasks was the fight against traffic jams - hundreds of billions of rubles spends on these purposes. But the Muscovites did not see the results of this work: the share of respondents who believe that the work of public transport improved, compared with October 2011, decreased from 34 to 29%; And those who gave the assessment “worsened” - increased from 8 to 20%. 48% believe that the situation with traffic jams has not changed; The level of corruption remained the same. At the same time, the majority of Muscovites could not name a single policy that could seriously compete with Sergey Sobyanin.
