The premiere of the musical "Mermaid" opened a new theater with the old name "Russia", located in the building of the former cinema "Pushkinsky". The premiere was attended by the creator of the musical, the "Oscar -nobility" composer Alan Menken, RIA Novosti reports

The Little Mermaid is an original Broadway project, implemented by the International Creative team of directors from five countries specifically for Russia under the leadership of Stage Entertainment together with Disney. For the first time, the musical of Alan Menken was placed on the Broadway scene in 2008 Francal Zambell. The International Theater Company Stage Entertainment has prevailed in Moscow the only stationary version of the musical.

The director of the play is the Englishman Christian Duram. The main role of the mermaid by Ariel was played by Natalya Bystrova, the soloist of the musicals Stage Entertainment “Beauty and the Beast”, Mamma Mia!, “Sounds of music”.

The prime minister of the family musical was visited by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky, the artist of the Lenkom Theater Mark Zakharov, actress Chulpan Khamatova, composer Maxim Dunaevsky with his wife and daughters, Russian President Andrei Nechaev with his wife, daughter and grandchildren, actress Alika Smekhova, actress Anastasia Makeev Matveychuk, director Alexander Strizhenov, singer Alena Sviridova with her son, singer Lolita Milyavskaya, producer Igor Matvienko with her son, vice-president of the World Sports Dance Federation Stanislav Popov.

A bright, spectacular production with luxurious costumes and scenography - an imitation of the underwater world, which was created at the expense of the flights of actors on cables under the gallops of the stage, the movement of scenery and the game of light. In the Broadway version, the actors do not fly; roller skates were used to simulate the speed of marine inhabitants. In the Moscow production, roller skates are also present in a number of scenes.

Disney "mermaid" in the Russian interpretation made an impression on the audience.

“I really liked everything - costumes, light, actors, a balance of sound and, of course, music that there are no complaints,” Russian master Musikov, composer Maxim Dunaevsky, shared his impressions with the agency.

The “Oscar -winning” composer Alan Menken came out to bow along with the actors.

“Thank you for the warm welcome, it was amazing,” Menken thanked the audience and actors. Behind the scenes of Menken, who saw the performance for the first time, told the agency about his impressions: “Everything was very cool, Natasha and all the actors sang perfectly, excellent scenography and costumes. There were some problems with the hall, he was a little high compared to the Broadway venues, which creates certain problems with the balance of sound, but, in my opinion, we coped. Do you think?”

After the premiere, collecting bouquets, actors and everyone who worked on the musical remained in the theater - to celebrate the success of the first performance.
