Today's America is not at all like the place where I was born. Today's America is rather a distorted caricature of the place where I was born. I remember the case from childhood, it was during the Caribbean crisis, I was then very afraid that the Russians would come and capture my country. My grandfather, an officer of the Navy, reassured me. Grandfather then said to me: “America will never be defeated from the outside, well, at least while you are alive.” America, he said, can be defeated only from the inside. Then I did not understand what he wanted to say. I was only 10 years old. Now I understand.

America is not yet defeated, but it seems that history is already approaching a denouement. And the conqueror here is not some kind of enemy from the outside, despite all the cries about threats from Muslims, Russia (only let's not scare Russia again) and from Iran. America will be conquered by corporations and rich. They do not want the power to regulate them, they want to regulate power themselves. It is they, it is micro-minority, concentrated all power in their hands. Not a single election will change the situation. Only a constitutional amendment can change the situation, and this is unlikely

I am watching how the authorities gather in the hands of the rich, since the time of the Roagan administration. I have fears that soon America will become a plutocracy. It seems that this is a matter of time, and the outcome of these elections will not be able to stop it.

Today this country is no longer the United States of America. Rather, the "disassembled states of America." I have been thinking about this for the past 20 years. Here you look at the polls: 45% for one, 47% for the other. And experts call it a “majority”? Such a “majority” is a “majority” only in the context of the elections. In fact, this means that the country has a very strong separation. In my opinion, this is the same strong division as during the civil war in the 1860s. Yes, the reasons are different, but the depth of separation is almost the same. Our former President Lincoln became famous for the phrase: “The house, divided against himself, cannot resist.” Now America is seen by a divided house.
