In this denunciation, an anonymous author under a characteristic nickname reports: “Few people know, but there is a“ foreign agent ”in Ulyanovsk.” Such an Internet skid is attributed by the Research Center "Region", which exists at the University of Ulyanovsk. “Region” is one of the authoritative in the country and in Europe of research sociological centers involved in youth themes (youth subcultures and solidarity, gender studies, national identities, measurements of patriotism, social and political activism of young, tolerance and xenophobia, etc.). All information about itself is reported on the official website , from where anonymous information about the participation of the “region” in international projects. In particular, the region “Region” is the only participant in the European project MyPlace (Memory, Youth, Political Legacy and Civic Engagement), which is implemented under the auspices of the European Commission and the SEVENTH FRAMEWORK program. Its goal is to understand how the social involvement of youth is formed in the conditions of totalitarianism (past and present) and populism in Europe.

NIC "Region" has existed for more than a decades and is a supporter of qualitative methods in sociology. Its employees conduct field research with immersion in youth subcultures, publish results in the form of books and articles. Thanks to the “region”, in particular, the picture of informal youth solidarities - skinheads, “antifa”, etc. became clearer. NIC also conducted fundamental research on youth regionalism, from which it is clear how patriotic youth in the outback with respect to the small homeland and Russia as a whole, what problems consider the most acute, why he leaves the regions to the center. Smart power should have grabbed these research, because they present the main motivations that drive young people like a dish. But the author of the anonymures wants the “region” to cease to exist as soon as possible, thereby breaking an optical device through which the power could make out the youth, the “future of the country”.
