A court in the Altai Republic, at the request of an investigator, arrested journalist Ruslan Makarov, who is accused of threatening to kill the head of the region, Alexander Berdnikov, reports the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the region.
A 36-year-old resident of the Ust-Koksinsky district, Ruslan Makarov, is charged under Part 2 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Threat of murder committed on the grounds of political hatred”), the report said.
As reported, according to the investigation, R. Makarov threatened the head of the Altai Republic A. Berdnikov based on political hatred.
On September 14, R. Makarov was placed in the Republican Psychiatric Hospital by a court decision for compulsory treatment, from where on the night of September 28, 2012 he disappeared, violating the preventive measure chosen against him in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior.
Earlier, R. Makarov published a comment on the Altai website “Listok” in which he called his placement in a mental hospital unfair.
On October 16, the journalist was detained.
