In Buryatia, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is checking the fact of premature birth, after which a living child ended up in the morgue, reports the press service of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On October 14, a 20-year-old resident of one of the suburban areas of Ulan-Ude developed a stomach ache. The woman, who did not suspect she was pregnant, drank herbal infusions throughout the day, but her condition continued to deteriorate, and on October 15, a premature baby weighing 590 grams was born right at home.
“Even the relatives apparently did not believe in the viability of the 20-week baby; they put him in an ordinary bag and brought him to the city specialized hospital,” the report says.
This information was transferred to the duty station of OP-2, and the police became involved in clarifying the circumstances of the child’s birth.
“After the mother was hospitalized, the fetus was sent to the morgue, where it turned out that the child was alive,” the press service notes.
The baby, who required specialized medical care, survived. Now doctors are fighting for his life.
“The collected materials of the preliminary inspection were sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for making a legal decision. Obviously, for the doctor who sent a living child to the morgue, it will largely depend on whether the baby can cope with the problems of his too early and completely unexpected birth,” the message says .
