
In Novosibirsk, police detained the mother and grandmother of a newborn girl who tried to sell her for half a million rubles, the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reports.
The police received information about the upcoming sale of a child about two months ago. A 19-year-old resident of the Novosibirsk region was looking for the opportunity to correct her financial situation. The girl does not work anywhere and has no constant income. And with the father of the child, her relationship began to deteriorate, the message said.
The girl was born on October 10. When a young mother left her newborn daughter in her arms from the hospital building, a “customer”, a police officer, was waiting for them nearby. The woman was detained as soon as 500 thousand rubles were in her pocket.
The ambulances called by the police examined the baby and reported that everything was in order with her. Nevertheless, the child was hospitalized in one of the hospitals - the doctors decided to leave it under the supervision to the transfer to a specialized children's institution, the press release notes.
A criminal case has been instituted under paragraph "b" of part 2 to be 127 approx. 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Trade of people in relation to two persons of knowingly minors), threatening to deprive liberty for up to 15 years.
