Habanera for a policeman

Today on the way to the rally I listened to the radio. First, I was told that in the past 24 hours alone in Moscow and other regions of Russia, five people died and seven were injured in accidents caused by, excuse the expression, “law enforcement officers.” This is impressive! If we add here the almost daily drunken attacks of these same guards on ordinary citizens, which has become almost a tradition, one may get the impression that this is their secret mission - to do their best to reduce the already dwindling population of our country. So that they don’t waste the budget, which would be much more useful to spend on increased funding for the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

But then they explained to me what was going on. It turns out that the police reform is to blame - people were laid off, but there was more work, so the employees are forced to constantly relax in bars, restaurants and other hot spots. What to do!? For them, production stress is relieved only by a bottle, and not just one, but not a habanera performed by their favorite artist Galkin.

Then I just drove up to Trubnaya Square and was convinced that everything was so, the law enforcement officers had a lot of work to do. For the hundred or two elderly citizens peacefully walking along Tsvetnoy Boulevard, these same, once again excuse the expression, “guardians of law and order” there were probably five people for each pensioner. And if someone is younger, then there are ten people. Buses and paddy wagons were clogged with Tsvetnoy and Rozhdestvensky boulevards, Trubnaya and all nearby alleys. And that's not counting the rather numerous groups of vigilantes. It’s terrible how much work the comrades who guard our peace have, today they’ll sit down to relax in the nearest restaurants... I wouldn’t recommend driving this evening.

By the way, there on Trubnaya I was surprised to discover (I had not paid attention to before) a huge monument to fallen law enforcement officers. In terms of architectural freshness, it is something between the Vendôme Column and the Nelson Monument, only higher and richer - below is a bas-relief of a fallen law enforcement officer from unknown causes, and at the top is St. George the Victorious, slaying a serpent with a spear. Unfortunately, not green. The architectural composition would have been nicely complemented by the shattered beha of the seventh series, but for some reason the sculptor did not foresee it.

As for the rally, or, more precisely, the ridiculous choice of some Constitutional Court, that’s not what the people mainly gathered for. Citizens came to make sure that they, citizens, still remained in this country. And we became convinced (see photo ) that there were almost no of them left in the country, just a small handful. Therefore, it is possible to crush us when we are drunk quite calmly.
