Through the eyes of the Izhevsk forum.
Introduction.
July 23, 2012
After the opening of the Flagman shopping center in Izhevsk, accidents began to occur frequently on Udmurtskaya Street. The fact is that opposite - across the road - there are residential buildings, but the zebra crossing and traffic lights are located quite far away. The result is that pedestrians simply run across this street. Moreover, the street is quite large and the flow of cars there is very decent. But today, July 23, the head of the Izhevsk administration, Denis Agashin, announced that a traffic light will soon appear in that place, a zebra crossing will be drawn, barrier fences will be installed and a safety island will be built.
Many argue that this will cause traffic jams and it is necessary to build an underground crossing, not a zebra crossing, but the city manager in his LiveJournal argues: “Of course, there will be dissatisfied car owners. They will say that this is one of the few high-speed sections in the city, that Now there will be constant traffic jams that an underground or overground passage could be built. Everything is true, but: firstly, we will try to choose the optimal mode of operation of traffic lights in order to minimize the threat of traffic jams. Secondly, the price ratio of this project with, for example. , an underground passage, differs tenfold. Finally, thirdly, if this pedestrian crossing, traffic lights and traffic islands save at least one human life, I am ready to constantly stand in this traffic jam on Udmurtskaya."
In addition, Denis Vladimirovich adds that he also gave instructions to organize a public transport stop in front of the shopping center in the direction of movement towards the center. Let us remind you that now there is a stop there only in one direction - from the center. “The city, in my opinion, should first of all be convenient for pedestrians!” - emphasizes the head of the city administration.
— Udmurtskaya, “come on, goodbye”!!! I have nothing more to add.
- How long ago is it? Sorry, it's long overdue? Is it time to tie up the entire Udmurt region in traffic jams? Is it high time to shackle the Udmurtskaya-Kirova intersection? It’s high time to deprive Izhevsk of another expressway (not in the sense of driving, in the sense of almost the only road without traffic lights and traffic jams), tell me, what is high time to do from this?
— At a time when in normal republics dozens of above-ground ones are being built, we cannot even build above-ground ones on time.
- Who is Agashin?
— Believe me, it will not become less of a problem after a traffic light is installed there, a couple of bollards are put in, the crossing is put into operation, saying that it meets all safety standards, and there will be trampled by self-confident sheep (overly confident pedestrians) who will be demolished no less confident pilots (read rams-2) who are in a hurry.
- You, dear pedestrian, will not be so happy when you stand in a traffic jam on a bus in the heat during rush hour, since Udmurtskaya will be occupied by the same joyful pedestrians, and Gagashin will report that everything here is chocolate and beautiful, but the real statistics according to accidents will be changed.
- Gagashin?
— I live in German houses. I don’t care who makes the crossing across Udmurtskaya Street and with whose money, as long as there is one! There is no money for an elevated one - let them make a regular one, but don’t care about the groans of motorists: if you give them free rein, they will drive everywhere and at any speed at any speed. The story with the girl who was hit did not teach them anything.
“They can get together and block the street in that place during rush hour as long as it is necessary to cross it. Film all this and post it for everyone to see on YouTube and social networks with a description of what they want to do with the GROUND pedestrian crossing. Let the whole world look at this.
— Do drivers even read what they write? People were shot down near the Flagman because there was no crossing there. Now he is. I hope that traffic police officers will now stand there and fine everyone who does not allow pedestrians to pass. Whether this causes traffic jams or not is a problem for drivers. They have a choice - to walk. But safety comes first. Plus, it’s difficult to get into a serious accident in a traffic jam.
- That’s great obstinacy))) What other arguments do you need? The road makes a turn in this section. This is not the best criterion for installing a traffic light. But this is IMHO, and I’m still not a specialist, just a driver. Further, the statistics of accidents (now another increase) involving pedestrians (including at the checkpoint) does not speak in favor of the checkpoint on such a wide road. In addition, many talked about the racers. And this also exists in reality. And that’s why I’m against ground-based PP. Well, traffic jams mean extra emissions for residents.
- Well, when they start making it, this damn crossing, I already hesitated to cross, it’s scary...
— Run across there? Completely minted?
- Let them run, that’s what natural selection was invented for.
September 17, 2012
— September is already over, but there are still no traffic lights. They probably forgot, maybe for the better.
October 18, 2012
— Construction of a pedestrian crossing has begun at the Flagman shopping center in Izhevsk.
— There have already been accidents at this crossing))), small catch-ups, apparently just because of the work.
October 19, 2012
“Today, unfortunate construction workers left only two lanes free, the traffic jam started already from the 16th microdistrict.
— Something strange is happening there... the smell of gas and firefighters...
— We completed the construction... we hooked up the high-pressure gas main... the evacuation of the "Flagship" and the closure of the Udmurtskaya.
- You morons!
“Apparently, the power of the mass consciousness of people opposed to the transition played such a joke. ))) Or is there justice?
- Shit, the police didn’t even let me walk from Kirov up to Mayskaya. And even Mayskaya really stinks of gas...
- Basta little ones ))) During the downs, the main pipeline was broken, half the city is without gas, aren’t they pests? They said that there was no need to do anything there. Most likely, they tried to save money and hired morons, but they did not coordinate the work with anyone and did not coordinate any plans.
- This transition will glorify our hometown a little today - it will be shown on many channels!
— Yandex.News: The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Udmurtia has opened a hotline in connection with a gas pipeline explosion. So did it explode?
— What moron came up with the idea of building a shopping center across a busy highway from residential buildings? And the word “agashin” has long become a dirty word!
- I understood everything! Now I was walking along the deserted Udmurtskaya and watching how people calmly crossed the street. The pedestrian crossing is ready!
— Is Industrial being evacuated?
— Leninsky is usually evacuated!
“Everything is cordoned off, there’s no way to get through.” Huge traffic jam. The office smells of gas (Severny, 61). Let's say thank you to the city for the pedestrian crossing.
- What, they drilled the hole at random?
“I was staggering through this crossing, Udmurtskaya was blocked, from Mayskaya to Kirov there were policemen everywhere, everything was barely moving.
— I confirm the information, we are in German houses, there is a strong smell of gas in the neighboring yard. Udmurtskaya is blocked for pedestrians and vehicles on the Kirov-Severny section. Lots of special equipment. He let the Komsomol correspondent call from his mobile phone.
— We started evacuating German houses and nearby ones on Udmurtskaya. There are planned power outages, so be prepared if you live nearby.
— We must first evacuate members of the United Russia party. And away from this place. Preferably north.
“And the workers were great, they started digging and found gas, then they found oil and an amphora.”
— What, the Leninsky district is already being evacuated?
— Agashin on Udmurtskaya? Leading?
— He draws a zebra while the traffic flow is stopped.
“Just now they called from school No. 84, they told me to pick up the children and they will house the evacuees.
— Is gas coming out of the asphalt or is it steam?
“I’ll go for a walk outside and breathe in some fresh gas.”
— Has the evacuation been canceled in Leninsky?
- That's it, they turned off the gas at 300 Udmurtskaya, I wanted to fry the chicken early, ehh...
“I didn’t have time to cook dinner, the gas was turned off.”
— Right now the supermarkets are getting rich on finished products!
“It’s extremely sad that the authorities, having every opportunity to disseminate information to residents, do not do this!!! They don’t report anything intelligible either about the movement or about the gas that was cut off!!!
— In the Leninsky district there is both gas and electricity!
— Yes, the black streak from Leninsky is moving to the Oktyabrsky district. Friday - there is no gas or hot water at home, there is still heating. I wonder if, at least formally, they will somehow punish the moron who managed to drill the main gas pipeline and those idiots who issued all the permits and approvals for this work. I'm blacklisting "Flagship" - lifelong, eternal boycott!
- There is no gas! There is no hot water! So that all representatives of EdRa and the authorities die at once in hellish torment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is how this incident happened in Izhevsk, described through the eyes of mostly non-eyewitnesses.
