Russian elections in Lithuania

The results of the parliamentary elections in Lithuania, the victory on which the left batch of labor won, can be canceled, and the party itself can be removed from the elections. The party, led by the Lithuanian businessman with Russian roots, Viktor of the Upasis, who scored 21.34% of the vote is suspected of bribing voters. The relevant investigations began to be carried out in some districts, including in the capital's Vilnius-Trakai. The reason for the checks was the video posted on the Lithuanian news site http://www.delfi.lt. Viktor of the Upasis himself, who is considered a protege of Russian special services, is not the first time in the center of the scandal. In 2006, Lithuanian law enforcement agencies started a case on suspicion of giving bribes to deputies of the Lithuanian parliament, as well as in filing false information to the tax return. The businessman fled to Moscow, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Lithuania issued an order to arrest him and put him on the international wanted list. However, in 2007, he returned to the country and began to cooperate with the investigation that has not ended so far. Opponents accuse the Upasis of pressure on the investigation with the aim of tightening the process as much as possible: the statute of limitations for sane crimes expires in 2014.
