15 Russian sailors were arrested in Nigeria

Nigeria authorities arrested a Russian ship and detained 15 Russian sailors on suspicion of smuggling weapons, Reuters reported with reference to representatives of local naval forces.

The Russian ship was detained last weekend. It is known that it belongs to Moran Group registered in Moscow. Several guns and about 8,500 rounds were found inside the vessel.

It is worth noting that on October 17, a group of armed militants abducted six Russian sailors off the coast of the river in the Niger Delta. Currently, the Russian authorities are trying to make contact with the abductors.
