
The investigation imposed the arrest on property belonging to former heads of Moscow Bank Andrei Borodin and Dmitry Akulinin. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The press service emphasizes that more than 400 million dollars were frozen, which belonged to Borodin and lay on foreign accounts in Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg.
In addition, its shares of the Bank of Moscow (8 million shares) and real estate, which included land plots, construction in progress and exclusive vehicles, were arrested.
The search and seizure of property was carried out in cooperation with Interpol, the competent authorities of a number of foreign states, as well as with the participation of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Finance. It is expected that on the near future, investigators will have to make several business trips as part of the investigation.
Recall that earlier Interpol announced Borodin on the wanted list at the request of the Russian side. It is known that at the moment the ex-head of the Bank of Moscow is in London .
Russian law enforcement agencies opened criminal cases on Andrei Borodin and his deputy Dmitry Akulinin at the end of 2010. According to investigators, they are guilty of the theft of 12.76 billion rubles owned by the Moscow Administration.
