- I saw shaky only once - at the second World Congress on Games theory in Marseille in 2004. Even then, he was a living classic, of course, with a plenary report. I remember how, on the way back to Boston, I met him in the waiting room at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris - his flight was canceled, and he waited several hours of the next. It was terribly unfair to the person who was at Congress one of the oldest professors.
Being in MIT, I visited the course of El Roth, which he read together with my first scientific leader Paul Milgrom (also quite deserving the Nobel Prize - I hope he will soon receive it). El can and interestingly explain even the very complex results of a wide audience, and the theory of bilateral steam combinations (laid down by Gale and Shepli) quickly creates a sense of depth. In addition, the mouth is at the origins of the experimental economy, which is engaged in checking the results of theoretical models in the laboratory.
I hope that the award of this year will serve as an additional impetus for the development of this section of economic science, including in Russia.
