Journalists who have the opportunity to test the Microsoft Surface tablet a few weeks before the official exit are mainly praised its powerful filling, but scold it for numerous shortcomings of Windows RT, Vesti.ru reported.

Microsoft succeeded brilliantly on the hardware front, one of the first reviews reads. The thickness of the Surface case is the same as that of a full -sized iPad - 9.4 mm, but it is a little wider, has stereoodynamics, not mono, which means it is better for watching films.

Almost any device can be connected to the tablet: a keyboard, a mouse, a flash drive, headphones, an external hard drive and other periphery. In addition to USB 2.0, Surface has a video output and a memory card slot. In addition, the Windows planet offers twice as much memory than the IPED for the same price: 32 gigabyte will cost $ 500, and with 64 GB-$ 600.

However, the Surface battery is enough for eight hours, while the iPad has at least ten. On the other hand, some Android planes work even less without recharging.

There are no Surface models with a 3G module, only Wi-Fi. In terms of quality and clarity, the 10.6-inch screen of the Microsoft (1366x768) tablet is much inferior to Apple with a 9.7-inch Retina display (2048x1536). Surface camera was disappointed. It takes very mediocre photographs, and the resolution of the rear is only 1-megapixel.

According to journalists, the Windows RT interface, made in the form of "tiles", is quick and convenient. However, on the RT version of the tablet, one of the 4 million programs created for the "large" Windows should not be launched. By the time Surface, the Windows App Store online store will offer less than ten users from the USA, but there is no Facebook, Spotify, Angry Birds or Instagram. The App Store presents 275 thousand programs for iPad.

From the built -in applications of observers, mail was most not pleased with the necessary functions: for example, a single box where all incoming letters, or a folder for unreasonable letters are added up. There is no support for the POP protocol, and many third -party applications are loaded very slowly.

The Surface series was announced in June. So far, it includes two varieties of the device. The first is equipped with ARM processors of NVIDIA TEGRA and is designed for ordinary users. A more advanced model with the Pro prefix is ​​supplied with Intel Core i5 (Ivy Bridge) chips. The accessories for them are the covering cover with the sensory panel.

The "younger" Surface will receive the RT version of the Windows 8 operating system, and the "senior" - professional. The tablet in the basic configuration will be released on October 26 (on the same day as the "eight"), and the advanced model is in January 2013.
