Ukraine will not initiate a criminal case into the kidnapping of Russian opposition leader Leonid Razvozzhaev in Kyiv. The republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that he was detained and taken to Moscow by the Russian special services.

“If there was a criminal offense, that is, a person was kidnapped, it doesn’t matter, a Ukrainian or a citizen of the Russian Federation, such material is received by the police in the form of a statement or information, it is registered and a pre-investigation check is carried out. Actually, at the request of a lawyer, a woman from 1983, that a person was kidnapped. But the very next day this man was alive and well and accompanied by the Russian special services. Therefore, it is clear that it was not criminals who kidnapped here, not terrorists, but this was an operation carried out by other security forces on the territory of Ukraine,” Vladimir Polishchuk, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told the UNN agency.

“The pre-investigation check of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is now taking place from October 19 to October 29, but I already see in advance that it simply cannot be opened a criminal case for kidnapping. Perhaps there will be a refusal to initiate a criminal case,” continues Polishchuk. - If criminals kidnapped a person, then in this case a criminal case would absolutely be initiated. And if these are the actions of law enforcement officers of another state, then I don’t think that the special services should share their plans regarding these actions with the police.”

At the same time, according to a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Russian special services carried out a special operation with the permission and accompanied by Ukrainian security service colleagues.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Valeria Lutkovskaya, sent official inquiries in order to clarify the circumstances of the incident with the abduction of Razvozzhaev.

Let us remind you that Leonid Razvozzhaev, Konstantin Lebedev and Sergei Udaltsov are defendants in the case of preparing mass riots, initiated in the wake of the NTV film “Anatomy of Protest-2”. Razvozzhaev was detained in Kyiv, where he wanted to ask for political asylum at the UN office. The Investigative Committee of Russia stated that it had received a confession from the oppositionist. However, Razvozzhaev himself told human rights activists that he was tortured. He and Lebedev were arrested for two months. Udaltsov is still under recognizance not to leave the place; on Friday he was summoned for questioning by the Investigative Committee. Udaltsov’s wife and children have already left for Ukraine.

Ukraine will not initiate a case of “kidnapping” of Razvozzhaev
