Ukraine will be left without Russian drugs

Since 2013, most Russian pharmaceutical producers will not be allowed to the Ukrainian market. The newspaper of RBC Daily writes about this on October 25.

From January 1, 2013, Ukraine comes into force in which all imported drugs must comply with GMP (good manuapacturing practice, proper production practice). To get a GMP certificate, the manufacturer of drugs must be an audit.

However, according to the newspaper, so far only one Russian pharmaceutical company was able to do this - Petrovax Pharm, and another 20 manufacturers are waiting for their turn. According to experts, Ukrainian inspectors know in advance that a number of Russian companies will not be able to pass an audit and recommend that they refuse to participate in this procedure at the stage of consultations. According to the newspaper, the audit costs several thousand dollars depending on the volume of production.

It should be noted that in Russia GMP certification will become mandatory only since 2014. In our country, measures are also taken to protect the domestic pharmaceutical market from imported drugs. On October 18, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that by 2020, the share of domestic drugs in the Russian market should be at least 50%, and medical devices-at least 40%.
