Photo: ReutersThe Ministry of Education and Science of the Krasnodar Territory ordered the heads of educational institutions of Kuban not to allow Halloween to be held in educational institutions, the Orthodoxy and Peace website reports with reference to the press service of the Ekaterinodar and Kuban diocese.
The order was drawn up in connection with research by scientists from the state Institute of Family and Education and the Institute of Pedagogical Innovations of the Russian Academy of Education.
According to scientists, Halloween poses a great danger to children. Typical for this holiday are the costumes of the dead risen from their graves, executioners, murderers and maniacs like Jack the Ripper, sets of sweets and toys in the form of coffins, skulls, bones and human embryos, cut off fingers, drinking from glasses of tomato juice, which symbolizes human blood - everything this leads, scientists say, to the removal of internal taboos on disgust for such things, moral and aesthetic relativism, confusion of the concepts of good and evil, which, in turn, is fraught not only with psychological deformations, but also with pathological changes in personality.
The fact that the celebration of Halloween clearly contradicts the cultural values of the peoples of Russia is stated in a letter from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Krasnodar Territory dated October 24, 2012. The agency declares the inadmissibility of Halloween in educational institutions.
The ministry's letter also speaks of the need to create new forms of joint (children-teachers-parents) school holidays in accordance with the basic values of Russian culture.
