A powerful homemade explosive device was neutralized on Friday by FSB officers in the village of Leninkent, Kirov District of Makhachkala, the Operational Headquarters in the Republic of Dagestan told Interfax.
A suspicious package was found at the gate of a private house in the village of Leninkent around noon.
"The search dog responded to the presence of explosives. FSB explosives technicians established that the package contained an explosive device in the form of a nine-liter bucket filled with a mixture of aluminum powder and ammonium nitrate with wires removed. The device was neutralized using a hydrodynamic destroyer. Its power is estimated at 7 kg in TNT equivalent," said a representative of the operational headquarters.
