Russian march. Day of glory or day of shame?

As is known, the next mass action of the opposition was scheduled by the Organizing Committee only for the beginning of December. It is very strange that the Day of National Unity was ignored - November 4th, when the 400th anniversary of the liberation of Russia from Polish invaders will be celebrated throughout the country. The march of millions on this day would be a nightmare for the Kremlin, since on this day festive events will be held throughout the country, to which the police forces will in any case be diverted.

Be that as it may, on November 4 the traditional Russian march will take place, which the last three times was held in the remote residential area of ​​Lyublino.

And this march will be the moment of truth for Russian nationalists.

Nationalists often call themselves the vanguard of the protest movement, readily recall the events on Manezhnaya Square in December 2010, and also (not without reason) say that large sections of the public profess nationalist views.

But very soon the nationalists will have the opportunity to prove the above with action.

It was still possible to find some justification for holding previous marches on the outskirts of the city, such as the machinations of the “ repressive regime”, etc., etc. But over the past year, a lot has changed in our country - the era of mass protests has begun in Russia.. .

The authorities have repeatedly tried to push mass protests outside the Garden Ring. But, understanding the readiness of tens of thousands of ordinary citizens - those same representatives of the “creative class” , hipsters and “bespectacled intellectuals” - to go to the city center even for an unauthorized rally, the Kremlin always backed down...

And even if now Russian nationalists obediently march to Lyublino, “enjoying” the miasma of the oil refinery and nearby filtration fields, and loudly chant “Glory to Russia!” , then it will look just pathetic...

And then, by the way, the nationalists will no longer be able to blame the same Nemtsov or Parkhomenko for leaking the protest...

And against the backdrop of marching columns in Lyublino, even the peaceful actions of white ribbon protesters, even single pickets of Solidarity activists or the cautious “blogger opposition activity” of R. Adagamov will seem the height of intransigence and radicalism...
