On October 26, Greenpeace employees checked the condition of the foci of mass reproduction of a cort eat in the indicated areas to clarify the prospects for the further development of his population. During the audit, the sections of the old pure spruce trees, most vulnerable to the bark beetle, were examined, and also took samples of forest litter and the upper soil near the trees spruce, dried up in July-September this year (to clarify the number of beetles lying to the wintering). And although most samples have yet to be disassembled, preliminary results of the study are encouraging.
In the samples of the litter and soils disassembled on the spot, only single beetles were found - one or two on an area of about 50 square centimeters, which is about an order of magnitude less than a year ago, and in some samples taken nearby from recent trees, beetles were not found at all.
The fact that the outbreak of the number of bark beetle, most likely, was declining, other circumstances are also said. In most of the examined sections, the number of fir trees that had dried up as a result of the exposure of the second wave of the pest (in July-September 2012) was several times smaller than the number of trees that had dried up as a result of the first wave (in May-June). The density of the flying holes of the bark beetle on most of the recently dried up trees was also low. In some places, spruce wood, thrown when expanding the power transmission routes in the time and under conditions ideal for massive settlement of a bark beetle, was populated with a slight density or not even inhabited (with a very large number of barriers of the shrinkage).
So far, this is only preliminary data, but they encourage. Certificates from some other areas of the Moscow Region also suggest that the current episode of the mass death of the Yelnikov near Moscow is coming to an end.
Recall that the catastrophic increase in the number of bark beetles-trapograph in the middle lane of European Russia began in 2009-2010. The initial impetus for the beginning of the mass reproduction of the pest was hurricanes, ticking many trees - the best food for it - and the subsidiary of a dry summer.
Bark beetle - an ordinary beetle of dark -skinned forests of Eurasia. Under normal conditions, it does not cause great damage to the forest, since healthy spruce is able to defend themselves from it, filling the entrance holes and beetles themselves with resin, and even partially changing their metabolism with the aim of synthesizing components harmful to the pest. Thus, with a small number, the bark beetle has to be content with weakened or recently dead trees.
However, if the wagon manages to gain a large number, he becomes a dangerous pest: several hundred beetles, attacking at the same time, can even kill a completely healthy spruce. With a catastrophic increase in the number of bark beetles, a trapograph is able to destroy entire massifs of spruce forests - which happened in recent years. In particular, according to the Rosselkhoznadzor , the outbreak of mass reproduction of a corthy-player covered the old-growing spruce trees throughout the European part of Russia from the Bryansk and Smolensk regions to the Bashkiria and the Chelyabinsk region. The forests of the western part of the Moscow region were struck to the most powerful degree, where, according to experts in the field of forest entomology, the spruce spruce died on an area of about 100 thousand hectares, while official data were underestimated at least five times.
The agency did not fail to “kick” the Rosleskhoz, who, since August 2010, was transferred the authority to supervise the phytosanitary state of forest stands: “Despite the fact that the methods of farming in forests, which have been eliminating the possibility of forming a typographic alarmist, have been known since the 19th century, the existing practice of forestry, and the lack of proper system of supervision in the field of forestry farms, created the conditions for expanding the foci. " The development of events has led to the fact that this year the death of the tree from outbreaks of forest pests significantly exceeds the death of forest fires, the message says.
The fact that this became possible, environmentalists are accused of the modern forest code, because of which the forestry ruined by the “reforms” could not eliminate the threat and disassemble the blockages in the framework of new bureaucratic procedures.
Environmentalists still find it difficult to name the reason for a decrease in the number of bark beetle in the west of the Moscow Region. So far, the most emotional explanation sounds like this: “The cursed stressed by the dealerships!” By the way, an entertaining coincidence - a decrease in the number of beetles was noted precisely in the West of the Moscow Region, where the cost of land is an order of magnitude greater than in other areas. Here are the estates of businessmen, stars and politicians (including the residence of the president and prime minister).
Nevertheless, experts emphasize that “this is so far only preliminary data and only for a relatively small territory” and call for the relevant authorities not to relax, since the problem of the mass death of spruce and fuss has not been exhausted.
In the suburbs there are tens of thousands of hectares of completely or partially dead old spruce forests, which must be clear from dead wood (in addition to many unusual burners of two years ago and wind sections), in the place of which it is necessary to restore new forests.
The fast disassembly of the dead plantings in the suburbs, if it really turns out to organize it, will give about 5-7 million cubic meters of low-voltage, largely rotten, woody wood. For comparison: in 2011, despite mass sanitary cutting in the throat of 2010, the volume of wood harvesting in the Moscow region amounted to only 817 thousand cubic meters.
For the harvesting of such volumes of wood in the suburbs, there are no specialists, no experimental performers, nor equipment, nor a suitable transport infrastructure - ordinary rural roads with such a large -scale export can be divided for several months. Yes, and to put this rotten dead wood in such volumes has nowhere to go.
For the forestry of the dead forests in such volumes, there is also no equipment, nor people, nor landing material, nor, most importantly, reasonable legislation, the message says. So, most likely, it will not be possible to eliminate the consequences of the invasion of the cervical of the bark beetle.
