Large retail networks of the “House” or “Discounter” format, as follows from their reporting, lose their customers. The number of checks in Pyaterochka in the III quarter of the current year decreased by 1.5% and by 1.7% in nine months, the number of buyers of the regional stores Magnit and Dixie decreased.
“Vedomosti” in the “Ugly Trade” article (No. 206, dated October 30) is associated not only with the fact that competition is growing and buyers are going on to new stores, but with the fact that people in large cities have stopped liked by discounters.
In the crisis of 2008-2009 Discown stores, the same Pyaterochka, showed a positive dynamics, and supermarkets like the "intersection" did not show growth at all. "With the growth of the well-being of residents of large cities and the development of modern retail formats, the priorities of customers occurred: they are not satisfied with the high share of low price segment products, the quality of the service and the assortment matrix of the discounters," says Mikhail Burmistrov, general director of Infoline Analytics.
Other analysts surveyed by the newspaper also emphasize that not only the price of the goods or the distance from the house is important to customers , but also the emotions that accompany the purchase process, that customers have become more demanding on the quality of service and assortment. They predict the growth of hypermarkets. The representative of Magnit, Oleg Goncharov, disagree: “shops“ at home ”will never be able to 100% satisfy the needs of the buyer and will not set such a goal. The buyer is ready to leave 35-40% of the family budget in such stores, spend the same amount in hypermarkets, the remaining 20-30%-in specialized stores: bakery, meat, vegetables.”
