Political life in Krasnokamsk, where early elections for the head of the Krasnokamsk region will be held on November 25, continues to boil. Several hundred protest participants took to the streets with slogans “For fair elections!”, “Stop the chaos!”, “Governor, defend the law!” and requirements to register as an acting candidate. Today, according to our agency, a meeting is scheduled to take place between the Governor of the Perm Territory, Viktor Basargin, and members of the political council under the head of the region, at which it is planned to discuss the situation that has arisen in Krasnokamsk. Earlier, 7 members of the political council sent Basargin an appeal with a request to discuss the current situation.

The reason for Belosludtseva’s refusal to register was a certificate from the police, which indicated violations in Belosludtseva’s signature sheets, where the dates were written in one hand. Belosludtseva was considered the main competitor of another candidate, Yuri Krestyannikov, nominated by United Russia and supported by the governor’s administration. Meanwhile, Krestyannikov also previously had problems with registration. His signature sheets contained signatures given for a completely different candidate. Nevertheless, the TEC decided to register Krestyannikov as a candidate.

Such double standards led to the fact that earlier single pickets were organized near the administration building of the Perm Territory with the slogans: “Basargin, return Belosludtseva!” and “Basargin! Restore the rule of law! In addition, members of the political council under the governor became interested in the situation.

Early elections for the head of the Krasnokamsk district are being held in connection with the resignation of the former head of the municipality, Dmitry Markelov, who received 7 years in prison for a bribe.
