A few “Ilyich light bulbs”, a dirt road, cages and a dozen volunteers - that’s all there is. Or it was until a fire broke out here yesterday. Around midnight, the shelter caretaker woke up to the loud barking of dogs. By this time, the fire was already consuming the cages with the locked animals. The woman called the fire department and, despite the heavy fire, opened the enclosures with dogs and cats. Only thanks to this, many animals managed to escape. By morning, there was practically nothing left at the site of the fire; all the buildings that the fire managed to reach were burned to the ground.
