The procedures of the upcoming US elections of the US President do not comply with the international principles of organizing the electoral process. This is the main conclusion of a comprehensive remote monitoring of the presidential electoral process in the United States, which is carried out by Russian relevant NGOs with the support of the CEC of the Russian Federation.
Among the participants in monitoring are the Russian Public Institute of Power Field, the Association of Non -Profit Organization for the Protection of Electoral Rights "Civil Control", the Russian Free Elections Fund and others. A preliminary report , covering the period before the voting day in the election of the US President, is posted on the CEC website. Note that the document refers to the sources from which the presented information is taken is categorically absent.
- Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation in horror from human rights in the United States: a whole 1% of the police violates the law
- Political scientists called the elections in the United States "unprofitable." And they are not important to Russia at all
- Obama will be re-elected for a second term, predicts a 105-year-old "wizard" from Kenya
"The principles of universal, equal suffrage, authenticity and justice of the elections, openness and publicity of the elections are provided by the US authorities not satisfactory," the document of the Tsikovsky experts emphasizes.
According to the authors of the preliminary report, "the process of transformation and implementation of international principles and norms of the organization of democratic elections practically did not affect the legislation of the United States."
"The US authorities, spending huge forces and means of imposing a democratic order in the world, including by force of weapons, are trying to give out what they want for real ones, imposing on independent states absolutized models of political and electoral systems. Even the minimum set of proclaimed democratic values established in a number of international organizations is not provided in the United States.
The document states that "the principle of universal suffrage did not find genuine implementation during the election of the US president." “About a quarter of the US citizens who have the right to vote are not included in the voters,” the authors of the report noted, citing detailed examples of the reasons why this is happening. In particular, "the actual lack of suffrage in persons who have served a punishment of imprisonment and having a repaid criminal record, as well as citizens living abroad, add about 10 million Americans unnecessary."
Serious disadvantages are also called “numerous abuses at the state level when compiling voter lists, the absence of a single identification document of the voter, as well as the deprivation of passive suffrage of naturalized US citizens”, ITAR-TASS reports.
“The principle of equal suffrage remained not realized in connection with different“ weight ”of the vote, depending on the state, unequal access of candidates to the media, the non -participation of alternative candidates in television battles, the absence of the maximum amount of expenses of the election fund,” - the authors of the report write.
They are also convinced that "the principle of secret voting was not fully implemented, since it is not ensured by voting by fax and e -mail, voting in military units, conducting the primaries of the main parties, and using" conditional "ballot".
Experts believe that the principle of open and vowel elections is under a big question due to the lack of federal guarantees for the participation of both internal and international observers. During the remote monitoring, "numerous attempts were recorded on the free will of voters, including by employers who threaten dismissal in the event of the victory of one of the candidates." A lot of other examples were found in the volumetric document.
"The facts presented in the report constitute only a small part of large -scale violations and are a clear evidence that the electoral system and electoral legislation of the United States of America are far from perfection. They are contradictory, archaic, and, moreover, do not meet the democratic principles that the United States proclaimed fundamental in their foreign and domestic policy," the authors state it.
The final report will be published after the completion of all electoral elections in the US president.
Recall that the head of the CEC Vladimir Churov previously stated that “there are no more poorly organized elections than the American,” and was publicly amazed at the arrogance of the United States, where the presidents “choose a minority”, and they (the United States) are “trying to teach the whole world of democracy”. At the same time, he did not miss the opportunity to praise the Russian electoral system under his sensitive leadership, noting that Russia is now in Europe “one of the most democratic countries”, where the most liberal laws in the field of freedom of speech and conscience are in force, and electoral legislation is much more liberal than the American.
Churov himself, as you know, in the opposition environment is considered a real antihero of the latest parliamentary and presidential elections. After the Duma elections in December last year, then the president, and now Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, thanks to the head of the CEC for the work done, called Churov a "wizard." The nickname was fixed after him, although the opposition clearly puts a different meaning into it.
