In England, 500 retro cars took part in the world's oldest rally in the world

In the UK today, the oldest London -Brighton Auto -Brights Auto -Trinch was held, the uniqueness of which is that only cars created no later than 1905 can take part in it, ITAR -TASS reports.

In total, about 500 retro cars started from the London Hyde Park in the morning. The traffic on the roads of the British capital was complicated by a storm collapsed on the city, however, according to the organizers of the event, none of the drivers "lost the vigor of the spirit."

“There were large puddles on the roads in the morning, but all participants were able to overcome them,” said the representative of the royal car club Helen Holness.

All cars continued to move up to the final point of the route - the County of Sussex in the southeast of the country.

In just a few hours that the unique race continued, its participants managed to overcome more than 100 km of distance.

Among the lovers of autoclassicians who drove this morning, the drummer of the Pink Floyd group Nick Mason, the famous British racer Sir Serterling Moss, as well as actor Tony Hurst.

Despite difficult weather conditions, all participants in the race managed to finish.

Recall that the annual mileage of London - Brighton can rightfully be considered the oldest event in the world of cars.

The first race along this route took place more than a century ago - in 1896. Then 33 cars started from the British capital, but only 14 of them managed to overcome the entire distance.
