The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Samara Region opened a criminal case on the fact of abuse of power by officials of the Health Department of the Samara City Hall, reports the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee.
According to investigators, in 2011, officials themselves set prices for municipal contracts for the purchase of food products. Subsequently, officials threatened municipal health facilities into entering into contracts with certain providers at prices set by the health department.
According to the investigation, prices for certain food products were inflated, which led to an increase in the city hall's expenses.
Searches are currently being conducted in two department premises.

On September 7, Igor Saprykin was detained, acting. head of another department of the city mayor's office - improvement and ecology. He is suspected of committing crimes under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence"), Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of Official Powers").
On October 12, a criminal case was also opened against unidentified employees of the Samara Department of Construction and Architecture for abuse of power. According to the investigation, officials illegally changed the boundaries of the so-called “red lines” located between land plots in the Oktyabrsky district at the addresses: st. Podgornaya, 3 and st. Podgornaya, 3a.
