This text contains GMO!

The phrase is a genetically modified organism, or abbreviated GMOs , has become used relatively recently. So, according to Pubmed , the first time this word is found in the scientific literature in the 1992 article (Neilson, 1992). That is, GMO is a new word, not tested with time. This is not surprising, because it appeared even later than GMOs themselves.

Starting with the heading, we warn readers that this text contains multiple mention of the word GMO , the safety of the use of which is not proved. Including it is not proven that what he heard, uttered, written or read by GMO will not affect the health of a person who heard him, who pronounced who wrote or read, or to the health of his descendants in the second or in the third generation. Even if we accept that separately the words genetically , modified and organism are present in the language for a long time and therefore, presumably, are safe (although this is a controversial issue), the mentioned consistent combination of these words and the abbreviation of the GMOs were artificially created recently.

To date, it is not proven that the word GMO cannot cause cancer in people, autoimmune diseases, allergies, diarrhea, constipation, hemorrhoids, Alzheimer's disease, vomiting, undesirable pregnancy, autism, suicidal thoughts, overweight, stroke, heart attack, hair loss, schizophrenia, alcohol dependence, loss of vision or hearing, weakening of the immune system, paralysis breathing muscles, acne, inflammation of the inner ear or appendix, depression, kidney stones, impotence. The list of such condition can be continued for a very long time.

Meanwhile, it is no secret that the words that we read or hear, pronounce or write down, affect our brain, generating thoughts. Therefore, words can directly affect our body. The excitement of the word GMO of certain parts of the brain can lead to the release of some hormones into the blood, which in turn can affect the cells, possibly on the cells of the reproductive system or even on the cells of the brain itself! It is not proven that such an effect cannot lead to mutations, damage to the mitochondria, and the cell cycle.

Another risk associated with the use of the word GMO is that it can penetrate the boundaries of current semantic meanings and displace other words from the language. The frequency of the use of the word GMO today has reached unprecedented meanings (see GMO request statistics in Google at the top). Is this the word awaits fate that overtook another word of three letters, which is ashamed to pronounce?! Just imagine an unenviable future: give me GMO; You yourself are GMOs; You can say again - you will get from me by the GMO; He got drunk in GMOs and in that spirit.

Meanwhile, there are a huge number of journalists, as well as science and politicians who make a career on the word GMO . This word is constantly mentioned in blogs, scientific and popular science articles, the headlines of the yellow press, on radio, television, on the Internet. Of course, a lot of money is earned by using this word. Perhaps that is why scientists are reluctant to conduct research on the influence of the word GMO on human health. I doubt that someone will be able to break through the bribed reviewers and publish an article in the scientific journal about the danger of the word GMO : the GMO lobby will not allow.

Today, no person can confidently say that he is safe from the word GMO . Imagine: you buy a fresh release of the newspaper and do not even suspect that in one of the paragraphs, between traditional and time -tested words, prayer and urinotherapy are written this insidious word: GMO . What can be the consequences of such a “surprise”? How to live a specialist who is forced to hear this word every day? Science is still unable to give a convincing answer.

Who knows what will happen if you take several rats and, putting on the headphones on them, force you to listen to an audio recording with a repeating word GMO ? As control, other rats can be given to listen to our Father . Of course, such studies are necessary, because the health of citizens at stake! But what can be done now? It is necessary to introduce mandatory marking of texts, programs and reports that text, transmission or message contain or do not contain the word GMO . To solve this problem, a special commission must be created, which (for a moderate fee charged from the authors of messages, but in no case with consumers) will conduct a linguistic analysis of texts and audio recordings for the presence of this word, and only after such an analysis it will be possible with the labeling “does not contain GMOs ”. The commission will be able to enter the commission, heroes who are ready to risk their health for the good of society, because they have to constantly work with the word GMO .

The last question remains. If it turns out that the word GMO is really harmful, who will pay compensation to billions of people who have already suffered due to the fault of thoughtless use of this abbreviation?!
