Yesterday, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Far Eastern Federal District reported that the Far Eastern police are investigating a case of fraud during the construction of a fire station in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Khabarovsk. The amount of the alleged theft amounted to 10 million rubles. According to the police, the government contract is worth 90.7 million rubles. was concluded between the Far Eastern Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and Stroyputservis LLC. The general contractor began work, following which he provided financial documents to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory, on the basis of which payment was made. However, the police established that the director and founder of the company, whose last name was not disclosed, “knowingly knew that the general construction work of the above-ground part at the Fire Station facility had not been completed.” Their cost, as the police say, amounted to about 10 million rubles. “Nevertheless, the head of the enterprise certified with his personal signature and seal the LLC certificates and acts on the cost and acceptance of the work performed,” said Evgeniy Kuzhel, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Far Eastern Federal District, yesterday. Investigation of the case initiated against the head of the company under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), leads the Investigative Committee at the Far Eastern Main Directorate. At the same time, the police are checking “the involvement of officials in the theft.” On October 16, we recall that by decree of the President of Russia, Major General Sergei Bashkirov, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Khabarovsk Territory, was relieved of his post and dismissed from military service. The DVRC of the Ministry of Emergency Situations then assured Kommersant that senior management had no complaints about Mr. Bashkirov’s work, and he was fired at his own request - due to the expiration of the contract.
