The head of the Lenfilm Production Center Andrei Sigle told reporters that he had been dismissed from his position without explanation.

According to the producer, the letter came on behalf of the public council of the studio and the Council of the Founders. “Some public council notifies me of my dismissal - I say“ some ”, because I myself am a member of this advice, but for the first time I hear that a meeting was held at which it was decided to dismiss me,” Sigle comments.
Sigle, the producer of the films of Alexander Sokurov, also said that three days before he received a dismissal notice, the chairman of the board of directors of Lenfilm Fedor Bondarchuk promised the studio team that Sigle would remain as the head of the producer center. “Last week, Fedor came to us, and he was specially asked if I would remain the head of the production center. And he firmly said:“ Yes, it will remain. ”And three days later I get paper, where she was reported about my dismissal,” Sigle said.
In turn, Sokurov regards the dismissal of the head of the production center as a way to get rid of the opponents of the new leadership of Lenfilm. “The new Lenfilm authorities are gradually eliminating everyone who does not agree with the policy of the new leadership, - they got rid of me, now squeezed out Sigl. They cannot allow the producer center of the studio to lead a truly business, economically competent person - with the policy of the absolute opacity of all decisions, such a person is very disadvantageous,” Sokurov said.
Meanwhile, the Director of Lenfilm Eduard Pichugin explained to the agency that the leadership of the film studio decided to dismiss the director of the production center of the film studio Andrei Sigle in connection with the liquidation of all subsidiaries of the company and this will not affect the further cooperation with him.
He emphasized that more than a month ago, the Public Council of the film studio turned to the leadership with a request to make the production center the structure of Lenfilm.
“We went to this compromise option, now the leadership of Lenfilm is responsible for everything. I personally wrote a letter to Andrei Sigle in which he informed him of the decision,” Pichugin noted.
At the same time, the Director General of Lenfilm noted that the film studio is ready to work with Sigl as a producer of paintings and new projects.
“We are happy to wait for him with paintings and projects, we offered him this cooperation,” Pichugin said. “There were no violations of the Labor Code in our decision, we were guided by the legislation on joint -stock companies. This is the decision of the only shareholder, and there was no employment contract with Andrei Sigl.”
