
Ex-Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov handed over to his successor Sergei Shoiga control over the so-called “nuclear suitcase”, RIA Novosti reports with reference to a senior source in the Ministry of Defense.
He also said that in the near future the new Minister of Defense will meet with the leadership of the Armed Forces. In addition, Shoigu will hold personal conversations with the Commander -in -Chief of various types of the Armed Forces, as well as with commanders of troops, districts and fleets.
Earlier it was reported that the full amount of transfer and position of the minister may take more than a month.
Recall, on May 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent the former Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov . This decision is associated with a corruption scandal and criminal cases against the company Oboronservis, controlled by the Ministry of Defense. Sergey Shoigu was appointed to Serdyukov, who had previously served the post of governor of the Moscow region for only five months. Earlier for 18 years, Shoigu was the head of the Ministry of Emergencies.
