Supporters of the left movement told Publicpost that for them the former state holiday of November 7 is the anniversary of the October Revolution, and how they will celebrate it.
Eduard Limonov, leader of the unregistered party "Other Russia"
For me, this is the date of the Great Revolution, which changed the face of the world. In my opinion, she had more influence than the French revolution. After 1917, one after another, communist regimes in different countries were formed. After the Second World War, a block of socialist states appeared. There have been irreversible changes in the fabrics of the world! The heroes of this revolution will forever remain in Russian history. No matter how now they tried to belittle these heroes, in my opinion, they look more monumental over the years. For me, this is a great revolution not for the reason that they inspired at school, but for other reasons - this is a great experiment in the history of mankind. I look at this on a planetary history scale.
I will traditionally take part in the Other Russia campaign along with the left.
Konstantin Kosyakin, member of the Council and Executive Committee of the Left Front
We celebrated on November 7, 70 years, the people are used to it. This date sits in the subconscious. Now the authorities are trying to make a holiday on November 4, but this day of unity has not even taken root - no one remembers the name.
Now they often give assessments of the October Revolution: someone believes that it harmed Russia. But the fact remains. If everything were good, there would be no revolution. After that, of course, many hoped that everything would be fine. But the revolution was literally the first real experience, before it was only the theory of Marx. We walked along the non -flowing path, a lot of mistakes were made, there were abnormal excesses under Stalin. The practice of real life has shown that everything is not so simple. But still there was a lot of positive, there was a huge breakthrough: how many people rose from the bottom, they were able to study - all this is free! There was confidence in the future! We knew: you work - there will be a salary. There were no problems that are now. Unfortunately, in 1991 many problems were layered. We did not have the power of the Soviets, but the purely power of the Communist Party. These deviations led to the fact that discontent arose, and the idea of the revolution was recognized as erroneous. There was a turning point in the country. But those who remember how well they lived, remember the holiday. There were many minuses too, but we all remember very well.
I will take part in traditional actions. Rallies will be held by different communist organizations. I am sorry that there will be two promotions instead of one. Shards of the Communist Party gather differently. I hope to unite in the future.
Viktor Tulkin, co-chair of the RKRP-RPK and "Rot Front"
I believe that November 7 cannot be canceled by any decrees. This day remains the anniversary of October, the day of the struggle, the day of reconciliation of the course with October 1917. We will have the laying of flowers to the Lenin monument, a rally, a salute and a meeting with the delegation of the Communist Party of Finland. Everything will be in St. Petersburg.

Victor Anpilov, "Labor Russia"
It is necessary to return the people to the social achievements of October, to fight so that people live like after the October Revolution and before the beginning of perestroika. Do not sit back, but fight really for free medical care, free education, for affordable housing for everyone, and not just for the chosen thicknesses.
This is what means for me November 7th.
Ilya Budraitskis, Russian socialist movement (RSD)
November 7 is an extremely important date, this is a serious stage event in the history of our country. November 7 is the most important point in the Russian revolution, after which Russia from the peripheral country with the tortured population and the despotistical power became the center of the world. The country where the views of everyone who fought for national, social justice were turned. And the fact that this day is not an official Russian holiday is not at all surprising for me. It would be strange if in the Russian state, the same peripheral, insignificant and unhappy, as once, November 7 would be a holiday. Today, November 7 belongs to those for whom this memory has not only historical significance, but also political. And these people, I hope, will go to the demonstration tomorrow.
RSD will definitely take part in the demonstration. To celebrate this day as a holiday we have no moral right until November 7 was filled with real social content.
Ilya Ponomarev, "Fair Russia"
For me on November 7, of course, a holiday, a very memorable day when one of the most significant social experiments in the history of mankind occurred. He brought some negative, of course, but there was more positive, aroused completely new social forces, gave rise to a new lifestyle, and allowed the country to make a leap in its development. Therefore, of course, I celebrate this day as a festive date. Unfortunately, I am not in Russia now and I can’t take part in the demonstration, but if I had it, I would definitely go, since I go every year.
The ex-candidate in the elections to the Coordinating Council of the opposition, the activist of the Russian socialist movement, Isabelle Magkoeva did not want to answer PublicPost questions about the historical date of November 7.
