LET'S TRY WITH PUTIN
OPEN LETTER TO CITIZENS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Some time ago I wrote an open letter to our president - I couldn’t resist. I received a lot of feedback - some expressed warm support, others laughed at my naivety. Even the president himself responded (I didn’t expect it) - he advised that the next letter should be addressed to Russian businessmen so that they themselves would not provoke officials into bribes. I took a closer look at the businessmen (those who had not yet left) and realized that in addition to the banal “hold on!” I have nothing to tell them. But I'm not talking about them now. And not about the president.
Let's imagine the impossible: we turn on the TV tomorrow, and from there Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, just like Yeltsin, who once brought him, says: Russians, I’m tired, I’m leaving. I worked, sparing no effort, did everything I could, and I’m leaving. Thanks everyone, everyone is free.
And what?
Do you think our life will be different from this day on? And the police (sorry, the police - what's the difference?) will stop robbing and pressing us, and, on the contrary, will begin to protect us? Will officials stop cutting the budget and dividing kickbacks and take care of their direct responsibilities, which they apparently have? Will doctors stop extracting money from unfortunate patients and start treating them? And the ambulance will not carry passengers for five thousand in the opposite direction with a siren, but will rush to help those who need it? Will the priests stop blessing Orthodox stormtroopers for their feats and begin to heal our souls? And the deputies will stop making us laugh and disgracing the country and will do what they were elected for? And the courts will begin to judge according to the law, and not according to the dictates of the heart and a call from God knows where?
And if you really think that everything will be like this, maybe you should try it now, under Putin? He didn’t give instructions to the cops to rob us, to officials to steal, or to deputies to play the fool. I won't say anything about the trial.
And there is no need to puff out your cheeks and shout about patriotism. Patriotism is love for one's homeland. It is impossible to hate each other and love your homeland at the same time. Because the homeland is not power, not the state, not birch trees in the field. Homeland is you and me. Me, you, he, she. And until we stop humiliating and robbing each other, dragging ourselves down, until we learn to love and respect ourselves and those around us, no one and nothing will help us. Neither God, nor the patriarch, nor the coordinating council.
Even Putin.
