The Chinese human rights organization "Power of Citizens" turned to the delegates of the XVIII Congress of the CPC with an open letter:
Dear delegates of the XVIII National Congress of the CCP,
On the day of the XVIII National Congress of your party, we would like to wish you health and happy family life.
Your party is not just a party in power, it is a monopoly political force in the country. That is, your congress is not just an internal party event, the life of Chinese citizens and our future depends on its results. We are tired that all political issues for us are “solving an uncle”, so we would like to convey the following to you:
Since the creation of your party to its entry into power (1921-1949), your party has not ceased to repeat that its historical goal is free and democratic China. These statements fed the passionate desire of countless Chinese citizens to democracy and freedom. On February 2, 1944, your wonderful manifesto appeared in Sinchua Daily: “We require universal honest elections, so that equal and full electoral rights are available for all citizens. To ensure the legitimacy of elections, all political groups should have the opportunity to freely submit and put their programs for discussion. The people must have the unequal right of assemblies, unions, words and press. ”
It is ridiculous to speak, but 60 years after your party came to power, China has not become free and democratic. The future of the Chinese people is still determined by the curtains of a handful of tyrants.
For 60 years now, your party has been holding the monopoly power in the country, ignoring the fair demands of the people to participate in political life and refusing to provide citizens with political opportunities. Result: The Chinese people have no freedom, nor basic civil values, nor elementary respect for human dignity.
For 60 years now, the legal system of the country is a mockery of pure water, so officials and members of the government of all levels calmly spit on their own laws, and ordinary people relate to representatives of the authorities, as ordinary bandits.
For 60 years now, absolute corruption caused by absolute power has entered all spheres of life, destroying the well -being of citizens, social justice and social morality.
For 60 years now, the state has been spending money not to improve the well -being of citizens or create normal human conditions for them, but on extravagant bureaucratic whims.
For 60 years, freedom of speech, printing, unions, meetings, strikes and conscience is just a fantasy. We cannot take part in any political activity. Society faced a complete collapse of morality and civil self -awareness.
Dear delegates, the only reason why the Chinese people fell into this unhealthy, abnormal and unfair trap-a 60-year-old dictatorship of your party. The present we want to ask you to recall your long -term, but unfulfilled promise, to show an understanding of historical responsibility and make the right choice. The present we urge your party to return to us the basic civil rights that you stole with us.
We demand these rights because we realized that their absence led us to terrible consequences:
The environment is unsuitable for life, we can no longer look at the blue sky, swim in clear rivers, drink clean water or even breathe clean air.
We are not sure that we eat safe food or drink useful medicines. Medicines on the shelves of our pharmacies not only do not cure our diseases, but often take our lives. Food can be specially infected with harmful additives. Children's nutrition kills.
Traveling around the country became extremely unsafe. Any just built bridge can collapse at any moment. During strong rain, people are steadily drowning on the streets of our capital.
The very opportunity to live became monstrously difficult for us. Many cannot afford to buy a room in an apartment or ordinary medical insurance, not to mention the cost of children and a “free” education. In addition to everything, many are constantly breaking on the bullying of the “city law enforcement officers” when they are torn to feed the family.
We are constantly robbed and humiliated by representatives of the authorities and officials. Our houses are destroyed without our consent, our money is taken under a thousand different prepositions. We only use the numerous “rights” that the state gives us: “right” to go to jail, “right” to be missing, “right” to commit suicide.
Dear delegates, we want to tell you that we are extremely unhappy with such a CVO status. Despite the fact that we have all responsibility for social injustice, when we write this letter, in our hearts there is no malice and hatred. We want to express our hope and talk about our expectations. We do not believe that you all completely sold your souls and humanity for power and money. We do not believe that the future of the Chinese people is in the vicious circle of slavery and chaos
Dear delegates, we hope that you will find the strength to open your eyes and see the problems of Chinese society. These problems emphasize the growing gap between the people and the government, the social atmosphere in China is becoming increasingly tense, social stability is more shameless.
Dear delegates, you often talk about the importance of social stability. But it can be achieved only if you solve problems, and not turn a blind eye on them. To solve the social problems of China, it is necessary to change the structure of the political power to which they are called. Mass protests swept throughout the country - from Leking to Vukan, from Shifang to Kidong. In the air, it smells more and more giant storm, which will sweep everything in its path.
Dear delegates, it's time to make final decisions. Any delay can lead to disaster. In order not to fall into the abyss again, you do not need to raise the wolf of the "power preservation of stability." But you need to listen to the complaints of the inhabitants and follow the channel of history.
We dream that one day the strongest building in the city will not be the city hall, but a school where children study and play.
We dream that one day people do not have to kneel, to assure themselves or even commit suicide with one goal: not to see how they are demolished by bulldozers, not to fall under a police bullet.
We dream that once people will access jobs and education, depending on their skills and virtues, and not on the social situation of their family.
We dream that one day everyone will be able to freely think, speak, write and criticize the government and officials without fear of censorship, go to prison or correctional camp.
We dream that once the leaders of all levels will be elected as a result of open and honest elections, when every citizen will have their own vote and that politicians chosen in this way will behave not as arrogant bloodsuckers, but as servants of the people, as is happening in Taiwan now.
Dear delegates, we believe that our dreams are shared by the entire Chinese people, including you. Remember that when most citizens are excluded from the political life of the country, those who are in power will never be safe: there cannot be an island of stability in a sea of injustice.
Dear delegates, we share our dreams with good intentions with you and sincerely hope that you dream of the same and will not interfere with their implementation.
Dear delegates, we are sure that you know that public opinion is a positional force. When successful managers, businessmen from the middle class, lawyers, journalists, school teachers and military veterans will suddenly express their opinion, you will not be able to hide your head in the sand. By sending dissidents to prison, you do not solve the problem at all. It should be released all the dissidents serving their terms, including the Nobel laureate Liu Syavlo.
Delegates, you will make a choice standing in front of you, while thousands of dreamers, like us, make your own.
We not only dream, we will do everything to make our dreams come true. And we will make them come true during our lifetime. Only selfish and hopeless nations can leave an hourly bomb to the next generation. We do not want to be such a nation. We are ready to fight and sacrifice ourselves in order to leave our children the most valuable gift - free and democratic China, in which the rule of law reigns.
Sincerely,
China citizens who have a dream
