President Vladimir Putin offered a seat on the Human Rights Council to human rights activist Alexander Brod.
“We didn’t include him (in the Council - approx.)? Well, let’s include him,” Putin said on Monday, November 12 at the first meeting of the HRC. Expert of the Public Chamber, director of the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights Alexander Brod said that he is ready to join the Presidential Council for Human Rights and work on the problems of migration and xenophobia.
Brod went on a hunger strike for six days as a sign of disagreement with the fact that he was not included in the list of candidates for online voting for vacant seats in the Human Rights Council.
