It turns out that things in Russia are not as bad as they say. According to the latest research, poverty is on the decline.
“Goodbye poverty!” A study by the Russian Center for Strategic Research and the Center for Social Policy was published under this title. According to the study, in recent years the socio-economic situation in Russia has changed for the better. A middle class has emerged in the country and the poor have disappeared, reports rus.ruvr.ru.
In particular, there are no people left who survive on less than two dollars a day. Namely, this is the criterion that is used by the World Bank to identify poor people. Nowadays, Russians can afford not only subsistence level goods, but also all household appliances without exception, and many even cars. Even those who do not have household appliances have cars.
Researchers provide various evidence of the growth in the well-being of Russians. For example, almost half of families have pets, spending an average of $1.5 a day on food. For comparison, Americans spend $0.5 on their pets. But for some reason, Americans’ pets look fatter than ours, maybe they will adopt a sedentary lifestyle like their owners. The study says nothing about this.
Study “Goodbye Poverty!” was carried out by surveying Russian citizens in various cities of our country.
This is good, at least our people do not consider themselves beggars.
