The pedestrian is in the capital a unit of movement number one, on Wednesday, the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov told Wednesday on the forum "Smart City of the Future".

"A pedestrian who can very quickly reach a place of residence, place of work, training, entertainment and treatment is our goal," the architect believes. It is quoted by RIA Novosti .

Kuznetsov explained that the authorities are currently reviewing existing projects to increase walking accessibility for local residents.

“Each territory that can be built up must satisfy not only itself, but to remove the imbalance that has developed on the territory of the adjacent. For example, Solntsevo is built up today by housing, and workplaces, places of entertainment, training and other necessary social facilities should fit it,” Kuznetsov noted.

In turn, the deputy mayor of Moscow for urban planning and construction, Marat Khusnullin, indicated that today about 50% of Moscow residents and 2.5 million residents of the Moscow Region go to work in the center of the capital daily in the morning, and come back in the evening.

Kuznetsov also emphasized that in Moscow, in addition to the general plan of the city, it is necessary to make a master plan, because the ideology of construction should be tied to the economy.

“There must be a link that the city wants to invest in its development and what it will receive from this. We must actively look at the balance of functionality,” the chief architect said.
