As lawyer Marina Dubrovina reported today, civil activist Alexei Mandrigela continues to hold a dry hunger strike in special detention center No. 1 in Krasnodar.

Let us recall that on October 16, Alexey took part in the “Funeral of Fair Elections” action, which took place in front of the Krasnodar Territory Administration building after the elections to the Legislative Assembly. Cossacks loyal to Tkachev, whose services were paid from the regional budget, took part in counteracting the activists.

On November 6, Alexey was taken from the Yabloko office to the magistrate's court, but Alexey's associates, members of the Yabloko party, who arrived ten minutes before the start of the trial, were not allowed into the courtroom as witnesses under the pretext of being late. The court's decision was predictable - 15 days of arrest for “disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer” (Articles 19.3 and 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

And during the appeal, on November 9, the trial had already ended (!) ten minutes before its official start. This is the new-old practice of politically motivated justice in Kuban style.

At the trial and at the meeting, Alexey looked very bad. Since there is no separate place in the special detention center for a conversation with a lawyer, the meeting took place in a cramped room on duty, in which there were three police officers, so no confidential conversation took place. The situation is further aggravated by the fact that the semi-basement room of the special detention center is not heated.

After exhausting domestic remedies, the lawyer will prepare a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights.

Two more of Alexey’s comrades are awaiting a court decision this week for holding a picket in defense of environmentalist Suren Ghazaryan, who held a rally near “Putin’s dacha” in Gelendzhik.
