The repaired palace bridge in St. Petersburg will be completely closed for movement for the coming weekend, and possibly the next - from 23 hours on Friday to 6 am Monday, Interfax reports with reference to the General Director of Pilon CJSC Mevludi Blaiadze.
The general contractor does not have time to carry out a number of technical work, and the closure of the bridge will accelerate work on the installation of a temporary support. Since November 15, the traffic on the Palace Bridge is closed daily for travel from 23.00 to 06.00, and in the daytime it is limited to four lanes.
The most significant work of reconstruction is the replacement of a divorce span. He, according to Bliadze, is rotten, and more than a billion rubles will take his replacement. The total amount of reconstruction of the bridge is estimated at 2.7 billion rubles.
To repair the span at night, a floating crane is started under the crossing, which takes on part of the load. With the onset of morning, the crane is led from under the bridge. If the movement closes for two days, then this will seriously speed up the repair process and, as a result, will reduce its terms by several weeks, quotes the representative of the Fontanka.ru general contractor.
The dismantling of the unique divorce mechanism of the palace bridge will be carried out after the construction of the temporary support of the crossing and the removal of the trolleybus branch. According to Bliadze, at present, "the bridge is crawling into the river, so the workers will stabilize the foundations of the bridge: 13 cm from the Palace Embankment and 8 cm from the side of the Vasilievsky Island.
Flight trolleybuses during the reconstruction of the bridge will be allowed through the Annunciation bridge. The route that goes to the Petrovskaya Sileshop will be replaced by bus. The restriction of movement on the bridge will be valid until December 20, 2013.
After dismantling the historical divorce mechanism, experts will create its layout in the size of one to forty in order to place it in the Museum of Railways, said Yulia Kharchilava, an employee of the St. Petersburg monuments.
The palace bridge connects the central part of St. Petersburg and Vasilievsky Island. It is named after the Winter Palace of Russian Emperors. The construction of the crossing was started on the eve of the First World War and was finally completed only in 1916.
The diluted double -winged central flight of the Palace Bridge is one of the symbols of St. Petersburg.
