Boris Stomakhin was detained after the search
In Moscow, a publicist, a former political prisoner Boris Stomakhin, was detained. According to the press service of the Yekaterinburg "movement against violence", on Tuesday, Stomakhin was searched by Stomakhin, then he was taken away for interrogation. According to human rights activists, a new criminal case was instituted in July under Articles 205.2 (public calls for terrorist activities or public justification of terrorism in the media) and 282 (exciting hatred or enmity) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum punishment under article 205.2 - five years in prison, under article 282 - two years.
On November 15, Stomakhin's Resistance website was included in the federal list of extremist materials along with the materials of the NS-WP neo-Nazi site. On November 19, Roskomnadzor issued a warning to the online publication "Highlight" for publishing a quote from an article by Stomakhin in the critical material "Selected statements of the liberals."
In 2006, Stomakhin was sentenced to five years in prison under Part 2 of Art. 280 (public calls for extremist activity) and part 1 of Art. 282 for publications in the newspaper "Radical Policy". He completely left the camp period and was released in March last year.
In September, Stomakhin nominated his candidacy for the Coordinating Council of the opposition, but by decision of the Central Electoral Committee, he was refused registration, as well as the former leader of the format-18 organization Maxim Martsinkevich.
