A former employee of the EA publishing house has declassified the new part of Mirror's Edge. Ben Cousins tweeted : "It's common knowledge among developers in Stockholm that DICE is working on Mirror's Edge 2."

Thus, Cousins commented on an interview with EA Games Vice President Patrick Soderlund to OXM magazine. There, Soderlund noted that DICE does not want to be a "Battlefield [game] factory." He added that the studio is currently working on projects that are not related to military shooters. However, Soderlund did not specify which projects he was talking about.

Rumors that DICE is planning to release a sequel to Mirror's Edge have repeatedly appeared in the press. But the studio has not yet officially announced it. In 2011, the media published data that DICE had begun work on the second part, but the publishing house EA decided not to release it. The reason for this was the low sales of the first part.

The original Mirror's Edge was released on consoles in 2008 (it appeared on PC a few months later). The main character of this adventure game is a girl named Faith. The game takes place in the near future. Faith works as an illegal courier - a "runner". In the game, she mainly has to quickly move around locations and hide from opponents.

Ben Cousins, who spoke about Mirror's Edge 2, is the general manager of ngmoco Sweden. He previously held a similar position at EA Easy Studio, the company that works on EA's free-to-play games (including Battlefield Play4Free, Battlefield Heroes, and others). Cousins also served as executive producer on DICE's Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield Bad Company 2.

The former head of EA Easy declassified the sequel to Mirror's Edge
