Ivanishvili presented an ultimatum to Russia

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili is not going to visit Russia. He stated this at a press conference in Tbilisi, reports News-Georgia . The head of the office promised not to visit Russia until it maintains diplomatic relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia. However, he did not exclude meetings with the Russian leadership on the territory of the third country.

“My visit to Russia will not take place for an elementary reason - while Russia has embassies in Abkhazia and Ossetia,” the Georgian leader said.

After the coming to power, Bidzin Ivanishvili promised to normalize relations with Russia, but did not bother from claims to Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Ivanishvili made his first foreign visit to Brussels. A trip to the United States, which was also planned to commit the prime minister, was postponed for 2013.
