Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, who released a book of memoirs after a long illness and the absence of a book in public, is again in the focus of the public. He is thanks to him, he is sympathized with, he is perceived as a person who gave freedom to fellow citizens. Even those who mercilessly, and sometimes unfairly criticized him in the late 80s, now look like his peaceful fans. It seems that the real Gorbachev, who was by no means of his own free will, the chaired by the decaying "Red Empire", no one already remembers.
Soon it will be an evil tone to remember that Gorbachev was two - and at the same time. That Gorbachev was “publicity” and “perestroika” - and Gorbachev Tbilisi and Vilnius. That there were Gorbachev, who returned Sakharov and convened a deputy congress to Moscow, and Gorbachev, who surrounded himself with a passage like Boldin, Yanaev or Pavlov. And that he, the second Gorbachev, by August 1991, triumphed over the first - so if it were not for the failed coup, resignation and political non -being, we could no longer recall the First Mikhail Sergeyevich so dear to our hearts.
But, in fact, there is nothing special in such a rethinking of the image - many politicians of turning point were distinguished by inconsistency. What we want to remember and thank just such a “real” Gorbachev is primarily because we now know the real Yeltsin. Not Mikhail Sergeyevich, but to Boris Nikolaevich, then our hope and support with "democracy in the heart", history provided a chance to build a democratic European state on the site of the Horde Empire of the Bolsheviks. And how did he use it? And simply - he recreated this Horde empire in an even more perverted, cynical form, approximately like the Bolsheviks in a perverted, cynical form recreated the Romanov empire. And then, when it was time to think about family well -being for decades, he simply took and gave this under -the -imperisia to the chelyadin - let him use it.
Of course, many people now want to think that Yeltsin had nothing to do with the fact that he built and built democracy along with the “oligarchs”, guards, stolen favorites and other historical accidents - and then Putin came and ruined everything. But, it seems that these people are not among the fans of Gorbachev. A sigh of Gorbachev is not even crying for a good indecisive king, this is a memory of the times when we really had a choice when the country could develop according to any of the possible paths.
And the choice that was made turned out to be almost the worst possible, because he turned Russia from an authoritarian state and the country, in which many dreamed of freedom into a closed joint -stock company, whose participants are not at all concerned about the further fate of Russia, but are exclusively busy with pockets in one form or another. And those who are on the territory of this joint -stock company now - and to the new Gorbachev, that is, to a new collapse, is already a special choice. In fact, they do not want any special choice, unless their voices for the void are honestly counted and allowed them to a more fair distribution of resources. And this hopelessness, this is a surprise to ourselves - it is necessary, once in history we turned out to be such a chance, and we missed it - and becomes a sigh of Gorbachev.
